Making ’Flower Pot Men’This year's Go Wild in the Garden Week major event consisted of a day of wildlife gardening activities in one of our local commuinities.

The day also had a recycling theme with local children making garden scultpures from old pots (hands up all those who remember Bill and Ben the first time around). The children also had the opportunity to make biodegradable pots from old newsprint, which they then sowed with wildflower seed to be planted in their own gardens later in the year.

Elsewhere within the grounds of the community training centre a recently thinned woodland area was planted with a range of wildlife friendly plants which will serve as both a demonstration garden and a resource for the community centre's training initiatives.

If you would like to hold a public event during this or future Go Wild Weeks and would like to have it registered and publicised here please let us know.
