The Common Frog (Rana temporaria) has suffered a dramatic decline in numbers over the last fifty years or so, due largely to the draining of its traditional spawning sites - small field corner ponds. The modern frog finds itself largely dependent on the humble garden pond as a place to lay its eggs.
Create a pond and you will soon be rewarded with the delights of dozens of cheeky-faced frogs hopping around your garden.
